  • Prince William Students Head Back August 18 Amid Big Tech and Transit Changes

    Prince William County Schools are preparing for the new school year, starting Monday, August 18, with key updates in transportation, attendance, digital tools, and student guidance. A new bus routing system and real-time tracking app have been introduced, while class schedules and teacher assignments can now be accessed online. Students will also use a revamped portal for digital learning, and parents are reminded to review the updated attendance policies and Code of Behavior. (PW Living)

  • Prince William County Conducts Joint Safety Drills Between Lifeguards and Fire and Rescue

    Prince William County lifeguards and Fire & Rescue Station 518 joined forces for two training sessions focused on improving emergency response in aquatic settings. The sessions included simulated CPR drills, patient extractions, and care transfers. Crews collaborated on techniques and shared protocols, learning from one another to enhance overall preparedness. Roughly 25 lifeguards participated, and due to its success, more such trainings are planned. (PWC)

  • All Sentara Hospitals Honored for Top-Tier Stroke Care by American Heart Association

    All 12 Sentara hospitals have been recognized by the American Heart Association’s ‘Get With The Guidelines’ program for 2025. Eleven earned Gold Plus awards for providing consistent, research-backed stroke care over two consecutive years, while one achieved Bronze status. Sentara credits coordinated, system-wide emergency care and advanced data tools for their success in improving stroke response and outcomes across Virginia and northeast North Carolina. (Sentara)
