  • New Housing Law Offers Developers Incentives to Add Affordable Units in Prince William

Prince William County’s Board of Supervisors approved its first affordable housing ordinance, which takes effect December 1, 2025. The legislation introduces a voluntary bonus density program for developers who include housing units for residents earning 50% to 80% of the Area Median Income. The county also established a Housing Trust Fund to support financing of affordable units. While Democratic supervisors praised the move as a necessary step toward housing equity, Republicans criticized the ordinance’s definitions and potential consequences. Despite concerns, the trust fund received bipartisan support, with a projected total of $31 million to be allocated by 2029. (Inside NoVa)

Targeted vehicles include Ford/Chevy work vans and the Toyota Prius. Etching requires proof of vehicle ownership. The Police Department is also partnering with local recyclers to track thefts and enforce state laws, which classify converter theft as a felony. (PWC)
