• Prince William County’s 4 p.m. Burn Law Begins Feb. 15

  Prince William County’s 4 p.m. burn law will be in effect from Feb. 15 to April 30, restricting open-air burning before 4 p.m. to prevent wildfires. Residents must obtain permits for approved burning, follow safety measures, and adhere to regulations to avoid legal consequences. (PW Living)

• Shelter Animals in Prince William County to Receive Faster Care with New Vet Clinic

  Prince William County Animal Services has received a state license to operate an on-site veterinary clinic at its Animal Services Center in Manassas. Led by Dr. Kimberly Nelsen and a team of veterinary professionals, the clinic will provide medical care for shelter animals, improving efficiency in treatment and routine health services. Officials say this initiative fulfills a long-term goal to enhance animal care at the facility. Additionally, the county will cover spay and neuter costs for adopted pets on select dates in February to recognize World Spay Day. (Patch)

• Virginia Joann Stores Hit Hard by Closures—Woodbridge Among Locations to Shut Down

  Joann Fabrics is closing 533 of its 800 U.S. stores, including 13 in Virginia, after filing for bankruptcy again. The Woodbridge location at 14350 Smoke Town Rd. is among those shutting down as the company restructures to stay afloat. This follows a 2024 bankruptcy that made Joann a private company. In January 2025, the retailer also sought court approval to sell most of its assets. (13NewsNow)
