• Police Seek Suspect in Threat Against Covington-Harper Elementary

  A Maryland woman is being sought by Prince William County police after allegedly making a bomb threat to Covington-Harper Elementary School. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Nidera Fortune, called in the threat by phone. No active danger was found at the school, but Fortune has been charged and remains at large. (DC News Now)

• Prince William County Public Schools Announces 2025 Discovery Enrichment Lineup

  Prince William County Public Schools is offering a variety of summer enrichment programs from July 14–25, 2025, at Nokesville locations. Open to current PWCS students, these programs include arts, STEM, math, language arts, and more. Tuition is required, but full scholarships are available for qualifying students. Registration is open through May 23, 2025. (PWCS)

• James Long Park Intersection Upgrades Boost Safety and Access

  Prince William County has completed the James Long Park Intersection Improvement Project, enhancing traffic flow, safety, and accessibility at the park. The $5.5 million project, fully funded locally, upgraded the U.S. 15 intersection, improved the park entrance, and replaced a gravel parking lot with a paved one. Construction began in March 2024 and aligns with broader goals to improve transportation and recreational access. (PWC)
