• Rod Hupp to Lead 2025 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics

  Rod Hupp has been named chairman of the 2025 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO), set for September 13–30. A retired IT project manager and active NVSO competitor, Hupp aims to build on last year’s record 1,040 participants. The games, featuring 70+ events, are open to adults 50+ in sponsoring Northern Virginia jurisdictions. Registration opens July 7 ($20, online only). The Thomas Jefferson Community Center in Arlington will host the opening ceremony, with events held at venues across the region.

• Prince William Digital Gateway Landowners Stuck with Higher Taxes After Bill Fails

  A Virginia House subcommittee rejected a bill to delay higher property taxes for landowners impacted by the Prince William Digital Gateway rezoning. Without relief, some face steep increases, including one jump from $2,673 to $728,000 annually. Lawmakers declined to intervene, leaving landowners to fight the assessments in court.
