Issue #25-267

In this Go Prince William County, Va Issue…

Fall is rolling in, marked by Occoquan’s annual Arts & Crafts Show. The county continues to evolve with an interesting project in Dumfries that’ll open up another waterfront to visit, will be interesting to see how that progresses.

Don’t forget to vote…early at the DMV was super efficient for me last time. Highly recommend!

  • Little Free Seed Libraries Bloom at Six Prince William Library Branches

Free seed packets are now available at six Prince William Public Libraries branches—Central, Chinn Park, Haymarket Gainesville, Manassas City, Montclair, and Potomac—through the Little Free Seed Library program, which promotes food security and well-being by helping residents grow vegetables, herbs, pollinator plants, and natives. The initiative is run by the Prince William County Seed Library Coalition and is partially funded by a $10,000 ChangeX grant from the AWS Northern Virginia Community Fund to the Garden Club of Montclair. Gardeners can access a county planting calendar, get advice from VCE Master Gardener Volunteers by phone or email, explore Virginia Tech resources and VCE videos, and find related programs on the library’s events calendar, with a short survey available for feedback. • Campbell Property Purchase Reconnects Dumfries to Its Historic Shoreline

Dumfries has acquired the 161-acre Campbell property on Possum Point Road for $3.9 million to anchor a new Waterfront District aligned with the Destination Dumfries Vision 2044. The site—nearly one-quarter of the town—includes limited developable acreage (about 14 acres) alongside extensive wetlands that will remain protected within the Quantico Creek watershed and RPA. A master planning process will focus on housing, economic vitality, culture and recreation, and environmental stewardship, with broad community input guiding future homes, trails, gathering spaces, and conservation.
