In this Go Prince William County, Va Issue…
Can’t hold back the holidays any longer. Occoquan wins the race for first Christmas tree lighting, with a full roster of happenings to boot. A week ago ice skating would have seemed like a strange idea, but Manassas brings it back this week and the weather realized what the date on the calendar is so it fits 😁
BTW - I’m sure I am not the only one who has no idea what a pump track is. ChatGPT says this “A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns (berms), and features designed to be ridden completely by "pumping"—using up and down body movements instead of pedaling or pushing.”

Know the Law: Seat Belts and Child Seats Under Virginia’s Holiday Enforcement Push
Prince William County Police will conduct day-and-night seat belt enforcement Nov. 22–30 through the statewide Click It or Ticket campaign. Virginia law requires seat belts for front-seat occupants, child safety seats for children under 8, and restraints for children ages 8–15 in any seat. Drivers can be cited if a child under 16 is unrestrained, and adults may be cited if unbelted when stopped for another violation. The effort is part of the Smart, Safe and Sober partnership to reduce roadway injuries and deaths. (PWC)
From Paths to Pump Tracks: County Details Active Park Projects This Fall
Prince William County is advancing park improvements countywide. Lake Ridge Park is adding 2,400 feet of 10-foot-wide multi-use trail along Cotton Mill Drive, with drainage, crosswalks, and connections to the golf course, marina, and playground. The county’s first public pump track opens November 15 at Rollins Ford Park. Shenandoah Park in Manassas plans accessibility and garden upgrades as part of a horticulture therapy initiative. Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center’s pool renovations, including a new bulkhead and white coat, are expected to wrap by December 1. (PWC)
