  • Prince William Chamber Extends Scholarship Deadline to February 7

    The Prince William Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline for its annual scholarship applications to February 7. The scholarships target high school seniors in five categories: Workforce Development, Higher Education, Military, Entrepreneurship, and Alternative Schooling. The program aims to support students pursuing education and careers in business-related fields. (PW Chamber)

  • 2025 Polar Plunge Promises Fun, Festivities, and Freezing Waters

    Prince William County is hosting the 2025 Polar Plunge at Leesylvania State Park on February 15 to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. Participants can dive into the cold Potomac River as individuals or teams, donate to the cause, or simply attend to cheer others on. The event will feature live music, games, food trucks, and a costume contest. Proceeds will support programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Registration and donation options are available online.

  • Prince William Organizations Seek Help to Serve Seniors, Veterans, and the Homeless

    Prince William County organizations are calling on volunteers to assist with vital community programs this winter. Opportunities include donating blood at the “Joe 15” Blood Drive, delivering meals to homebound seniors, teaching English literacy classes, and driving food recovery routes. Groups can also provide meals for a local hypothermia shelter. Flexible schedules and training are available for many roles, making it easy for residents to make a difference. (PW Times)
